The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied alleged plans to remove its Adamawa State chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal, from office.

Raymond Chidama, the state APC secretary, stated this when he spoke with newsmen in Yola on Thursday, NAN reports.

Chidama described the allegation as baseless and unfounded, saying that ‘it was the handiwork of opposition parties.’

According to him, contrary to the rumours, there was unity among all stakeholders in the state toward winning the 2023 General Election.

Recall that Bilal had, in 2021, won the majority votes in the party’s state congress to return as the chairman.

Bilal polled 1060 votes to clinch the office following the contest, which involved three other chairmanship aspirants.

His closest rival, Hon. Vrati Nzozon, got 224 votes, while immediate past Organising Secretary, Ahmed Lawan got 47 votes.
