2023: Ogun Former Gov., Senator Ibikunle Amosun To Declare Presidential Bid In Abuja May 5
As the political atmosphere continue to gather momentum, so the months of speculated presidential ambition of immediate former governor of Ogun State and the present representative of Ogun central at the red chamber, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, may come to an end on May 5, Eaglesforesight learnt on Tuesday.
His formal declaration for the contest has been fixed for the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, to climax his ongoing consultations with critical stakeholders across the country.
A source from his camp disclosed to Eaglesforesight that the former governor has been under pressure from many individuals and groups to join the race for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 presidential election.

Meanwhile, his posters once flooded his hometown and Eaglesforesight reported it on November 18, 2021, of which they denied that he wasn’t contesting nor aware of those behind the branded vehicles, branded t-shirts and posters.
An aide to Amosun insisted that the former Governor was not the brain behind the posters.
“Such poster wouldn’t have come from him. I can’t say exactly where it came from. I don’t think he knows anything about it. You have heard about different politicians’ posters surfacing in Abuja.
“So, I’m not sure he knows anything about it,” the aide who pleaded anonymity, said.
However, the immediate past two-term governor and current member of the Senate, representing Ogun Central senatorial district, is among the political bigwigs that formed the ruling party in the buildup to the 2015 general election, as he was also among the major pillars of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), one of the legacy parties in the APC.
