former Aviation Minister, Fani- Kayode
Few hours ago, former Aviation Minister, Fani- Kayode took to his official Twitter page to disclosed what a British Minister told him recently during one of their discussions.
In the series of tweets which he made few hours ago, Fani- Kayode said that last night he chatted with a British Minister who was with him at Cambridge some years ago, and he told him that Nigeria must remain together at all costs.
His reply to the British Minister appears a bit funny. He said that his response to him was that before he lectures him on the unity of this country, he should let Northern Ireland reunite with Ireland, apologize to Africa for enslaving their continent and destroying them, grant freedom to the Scots, apologize to India for the centuries of abuse and oppression, do away with the British Commonwealth, apologize to China for the Opium Wars, and also stop trying to trigger the World War 3 with Russia. He noted that when he told him all this, the man dropped the call.
Here are screenshots of the tweets;
Kayode’ s conversation with the serving British Minister is coming at a time when this country is being rocked by tensions surrounding secession. some time ago, there have been cries of marginalization and lack of a sense of belonging from some quarters in Nigeria, with some persons thinking that their region is not getting proper representation in the system, or is not benefitting enough from the government polity.
Many agitators have been raised in recent times, and this has given some concerned people of Nigeria a cause to be worried about what the future holds for this country.
Kanu Nnamdi Mazi, IPOB leader
Kanu Nnamdi is one of those strong agitators from Nigeria, and for years now has been agitating for the separation of Biafra from Nigeria. Even when the federal government proscribed his IPOB group in 2017, the proscription doesn’ t put an end to his agitation for disintegration.
Asari Dokubo former military leader, stirred the hornets’ nest few weeks ago when he dared President Buhari and proclaimed a Biafra defacto Customary Government. He insisted that they are ready to separate and that they do not want to exchange gunfire with anyone. He however went ahead to mentioned the names of people who will serve in leadership positions in the new IPOB government.
In its reaction to Dokubo’ s words, the presidency had described him nothing but a joker, and said that President Muhamadu Buhari government will not be distracted by his drastic actions.
Few weeks ago, a self- acclaimed freedom fighter Adeyemo Sunday Igboho caused a media storm when he announced that the Yorubas is no longer part of the Nigerian government, and that they do not care about what the government will do to them. He also alleged that the Yoruba people have not benefitted enough from the government system and policy, and that the government only favours the North especially the Fulanis

All these issues have been given Nigerians serious concerns about what future really holds for Nigeria.
So from Fani- Kayode’ s words, it means the British government wants Nigeria to remain one and united, and do not want them to divide.
Even though there are a handful of secessionists in this country, many Nigerians do not want the country to divide. They just want a fair and just system for everyone, because it is believed that it is only in unity that Nigeria can know true greatness.
