SAGAMU YOUTH ASSOCIATION DEBUNKED THE VIRAL VIDEO ON YOUTUBE PLATFORM

The attention of Sagamu Youth Association has been drawn to a video going round the social media from one social media keyboard warrior where the name of our own Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, was mentioned and alleged to have ordered the Police to shoot at the peaceful protesters during the Yoruba Nation Awareness Rally stagged in Sagamu yesterday, Friday, 16th of April, 2021.

Sagamu Youth Association wishes to state here categorically that the said Statements stated in the video by the unknown keyboard warrior was made to blackmail the Akarigbo of Remoland who has been out of the country for weeks now. 

The Protesters were said to have gone to the palace to pay homage to Kabiyesi who was not around but the Chief of Staff, Prince Abiodun Aina attended to them, implored them to be peaceful in their conducts and promised to ensure that they see Akarigbo whenever he comes back into the country.

We are the youths of Sagamu, we were fully on ground the awareness rally, and no Police Officer shot at anyone. There was no record of Police brutality, nobody was harrazzed, and not a single participant of the rally was arrested by Police while the awareness rally was ongoing. It was a peaceful and well organized rally and we commend the efforts of officers of Nigerian Police and our local vigilante for maintaining orderliness.

We hereby urge the general public to disregard all the unfounded claims in the purported video as it is bunkum in its entirety. The Sagamu Youth Association condemned in strong terms, all the mischievous, malicious and unfounded claims in the said video to soil the name of Akarigbo who is a peace loving King, lover of the Youths, an exemplary Leader and a prominent Yoruba Oba.

Above all, let us remain calm and focused, we also beseech everyone to dispel all sponsored fake news aimed at causing confusion and panic in the Sagamu and Ogun State at large, Koiki Media is known for peddling propaganda to attract traffic or get cheap and undeserved popularity.

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PALACE

Our attention has been drawn to a propaganda on the social media that is laden with mischiefs and unfounded lies against the person and office of the Akarigbo and Paramount of Remo-Land.

While we acknowledge the liberty inheres in the Constitution of this Country for people to express themselves freely, going about it in utter mischief, devilish fabrication of lies in disregard for truth and good conscience, perhaps with a view too misinforming the unsuspecting members of public is something ungodly and condemnable in the sight of God.

It is even more reproachable to remain indifferent to falsehood more so, a lie that is allowed to go unchallenged has an urgly tendency to be taken for the truth.

Against this background, we feel obliged to set the record straight as follows:

1. It is utter falacy that the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo-Land who has been overseas till date, refused to give audience to some protesters at the Palace on the day in question. 

2.It is equally a figment of imagination in the minds of the mischief makers that the Akarigbo being far away abroad, was aware of the protesters’ presence in the Palace. 

3. By the same token neither did the Akarigbo order the arrest of any of the protesters given his unawareness of the subject situation.

4. It is equally the height of evil imagination to assume the Akarigbo has ever received any gratification from Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,for whatsoever.

5.Above all, we pray to the Lord to forgive any one whose imagination might be running riot, to warrant the baseless rumors and unwarranted fouling of the air, with devilish diarrhea of the mouth, which the whole fiction and falsehood tantermount to.

6. On the issue of Makun land dispute, Akarigbo before travelling set up a committee to investigate the conduct of the kabiyesi in question. The Committee is yet to conclude its report which it is believed will result in just and  fair outcome.
