SAGAMU LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL VISITED IBEDC SAGAMU OFFICE.
The legislative Council of Sagamu Local Government Area led by Honourable Ayodele Ojuroye visited the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company in Sagamu in respect to the electricity challenges in the local government.
This move was made to get first hand information of what is happening concerning the electricity challenges.They met with the Commercial head, Mr. Adesola Michael Adesanya and the Assistant Administrative officer to discuss the plight of the people of Sagamu. As this is becoming unbearable, the standard of living is getting extremely high, couple with scarcity of fuel in the country.
They asked the questions bothering on the minds of Sagamu people such as the reason(s) for the poor light, extortionate acts by their officials to carry out services that are basically of their office, outrageous and crazy monthly charged bills, disconnection of light without prior notice to the people which has begun to create uproar and the people are not finding it funny anymore.
Furthermore, questions were asked on installation of transformers and how it has now become the duty of people to provide all necessary materials needed with no assistance from IBEDC as a private organization, which those duties ought to be their primary objective and functions.
Mr adesanya Michael responded by firstly appreciating the effort made by the legislative Council to channel their complains officially to them and to also giving them a listening ear to respond.

Then, he explained about the issue on light problem which is as a result of what they got from the Transmission company. What they get now is very low and less than half of what they are been supplied before now but promise that works are ongoing and things will be normalized in due time.
And on the other points raised, he assured that he will get it down to the Business Manager who was absentia to address other areas raised by the honourable Councillors.
He appealled for calmness by the residents in Sagamu that they will do everything to get things back on track.
The Honourable Councillors demanded, that “work should be done in earnest to avoid other actions that might be inimical to the social agreement between the people and them.” Their first move today was to allow peace reign and allow normalcy be restore so that the people will be happy.
