OGHA 2027: Olapeju Ayodele Declares Bid for Sagamu Constituency 2 Seat

The political landscape of Sagamu received a major boost on Thursday, October 2, 2025, as Hon. Ayodele Olapeju, popularly known as PJ, officially positioned himself as a leading contender for the Ogun State House of Assembly seat representing Sagamu Constituency 2 in the 2027 elections.

For weeks, speculations had dominated public discourse, with residents and political observers eager to know who would emerge as Makun’s preferred candidate. The suspense ended with Olapeju’s unveiling, a development that has stirred excitement among his supporters and sent ripples across opposition camps.

Olapeju currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant on Inter-Party Affairs to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun (CON, MFR). A graduate of Political Science from the University of Ilorin, he has also earned recognition as an entrepreneur and as Remo’s Most Outstanding Youth in Diaspora.

Beyond titles, his track record has been cited as a major strength in his political ambition. Over the years, Olapeju has been involved in several community-driven projects, including youth empowerment initiatives, installation of solar streetlights, healthcare support programs, and other interventions targeted at grassroots development across Sagamu.

With his declaration, Olapeju has joined the growing list of aspirants seeking to represent Sagamu Constituency 2, a seat regarded as one of the most strategic in Ogun politics. Analysts say his strong followership base and visible contributions to community development may give him a competitive edge in the race ahead.
