The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured a resounding victory in the Remo Federal Constituency bye-election held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, with its candidate, Hon. Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji, declared winner. The triumph was driven by strategic wins across Sagamu, as party loyalists and leaders stood firm to deliver their wards and polling units.

At the forefront of the success story was Hon. Olapeju Ayodele, Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor, who delivered a landslide in Ward 14, Sagamu. Across the entire ward, comprising 29 polling units, APC polled 2,290 votes while PDP trailed with 870.

Speaking moments after the results were announced, Hon. Olapeju Ayodele described the win as not just a victory for the APC, but also a reaffirmation of the people’s confidence in the party. “The opposition felt it was a joke until we showed them that they were chasing stones while abandoning gold. This victory is not about me alone, but about the collective resolve of our people to keep faith with the APC. It is a landslide win that demonstrates trust in our party’s vision and the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun,” he said.

He further commended the voters for their peaceful conduct and pledged that the APC would justify the overwhelming support. “This confidence is a sacred trust. As leaders, it is now on us to ensure that dividends of democracy reach every home and every community in Remoland,” Ayodele added.
