The Ogun State Police Command has announced a total restriction of movement in Ikenne, Sagamu, and Remo North Federal Constituency from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, as part of measures to ensure a smooth and secure conduct of the scheduled bye-election.

In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, residents were informed that the restriction applies strictly to areas where the election will take place. She noted that police patrol vehicles, stop-and-search teams, and other operational units will be strategically deployed to provide security cover throughout the voting period.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, while briefing election duty officers at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, emphasized the need for professionalism, civility, and absolute neutrality by all security personnel on duty. According to him, the Command has received additional manpower from Zone 2 Command, Lagos, and is working in synergy with other security agencies to guarantee a violence-free, credible, and transparent election.
