As the race for the Remo Federal Constituency seat heats up ahead of the forthcoming bye-election, a fresh and dynamic voice, Solomon Oyekan Adesina has joined the contest. He’s contesting under the banner of the Action Alliance (AA), has formally declared his intention to represent the people of Remo at the House of Representatives — calling for a shift toward visionary, youth-driven leadership.

Speaking to the Eaglesforesight correspondent, Oyekan made an impassioned plea for voters to rally behind a new generation of leaders who understand the challenges of today and possess the skills to navigate the future.

“We are not just the leaders of tomorrow — we are the leaders that Remo needs today. It is time to allow fresh minds, new energy, and people with a global outlook but local understanding to shape our future. I, Solomon Oyekan of Action Alliance, am here to offer that leadership,” he said.

From Sagamu to Indiana – A Story of Resilience and Vision

Solomon Oyekan was born and raised in Sagamu, Ogun State. He hails from Ipara Remo, and he’s the son of the well-known businessman and auto dealer popularly called “Obele System”, a household name in spare parts and car sales in the Remo axis.

He began his academic journey at Remo Secondary School (RSS), a respected institution that shaped many leaders across Ogun State. In 2015, he travelled to the United States in pursuit of higher education and new opportunities.

There, he earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Database Management and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Informatics Technology from Indiana University, one of the leading research institutions in the U.S. He is currently rounding off his Master’s Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, a cutting-edge field that focuses on improving the way people interact with technology.

With this unique academic and professional background, Oyekan is confident that he brings a blend of innovation, global perspective, and grassroots connection that Remo urgently needs.

“Leadership is no longer about recycled slogans and expired promises. The world is changing, and Remo must not be left behind. With my training, exposure, and deep connection to home, I’m equipped to bring modern solutions to long-standing problems,” he noted.

Solomon Oyekan’s candidacy is under the Action Alliance (AA) — a party that he describes as one of the few platforms still connected to the people at the grassroots.

“AA is not owned by political godfathers. It is a platform that truly empowers candidates who have ideas, who want to serve, and who are ready to break away from the old ways. That is why I chose AA — and that is why Remo people should trust our movement,” he emphasized.

The Action Alliance candidate is also positioning himself as a bridge between the youth and the political establishment, emphasizing that his vision is not to isolate the elders but to work with them to restore integrity, innovation, and responsiveness in governance.

“My plan is simple: serve with transparency, speak for Remo boldly, and open the door for younger leaders to rise behind me. The time of hiding opportunities behind bureaucracy must end,” he said.

“This is a movement. It’s not just about me — it’s about every young person who has ever felt sidelined or ignored by the political system. It’s our time to step forward, not just as voters but as decision-makers,” he concluded.
