Sagamu LG Set To Commission State-of-the-Art IT Centre In Honour Of Late Rt. Hon. Oriyomi Onanuga (Ijaya)

The Sagamu Local Government in a bold testament to vision, continuity, and tribute to an enduring legacy has unveiled a newly constructed Information Technology (IT) Centre, dedicated to the memory of the late Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, popularly known as Ijaya.
The unveiling of the digital facility marks a significant milestone for the local council, as it becomes the third major project delivered under the administration of Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate since November 2024. It also reinforces the council’s commitment to sustainable grassroots development, youth empowerment, and innovation.
“This building tells a story — one of vision, of legacy, and of a woman whose impact will forever remain etched in our hearts,” stated Ogbeni Odulate, Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government. “Rt. Hon. Oriyomi Onanuga lives on, not only through our memories but through the lives touched and empowered by her leadership.”
The new IT Centre is expected to serve as a training and innovation hub for Sagamu’s youth and aspiring tech enthusiasts. It is equipped with modern digital infrastructure to support computer literacy, software training, and tech entrepreneurship, aligning with the LG’s mission to drive digital inclusion and economic development.

The project is also part of the administration’s broader development framework under the #IgbegaIjobaIbileSagamu initiative — a local government reform drive focused on infrastructure expansion, empowerment, and community transformation.
“This is more than a building,” Ogbeni Odulate added. “It is a legacy, a pledge to never relent, and a symbol of the Sagamu we’re building — one project, one milestone at a time.”
The facilities and structure drew local stakeholders, youth leaders, and community representatives who hailed the project as timely and impactful, especially in an age where digital skills have become central to economic opportunity.
As the local government continues its transformative journey, the late Ijaya’s legacy now stands tall — not just in memory, but in a functional monument of empowerment and possibility.
