Obayori Okunrin Omoba Akile Ijebu Makes A Grand Entrance At Ojude Oba 2025 With Steeze, Unity And Royal Pride

The cultural heartbeat of Ijebuland, #OjudeOba2025, once again pulsed with colour, style, and deep-rooted tradition as Egbe Obayori Okunrin Omoba Akile Ijebu graced the royal courtyard in a grand and elegant procession. With a powerful display of unity and steeze, the group made an unforgettable entrance that resonated with onlookers and dignitaries alike.
A Legacy in Motion
Ojude Oba, which dates back to 1892, remains a remarkable annual gathering of regberegbes (age-grade groups), families, cultural associations, and well-wishers who come together to pay homage to the revered monarch, His Royal Majesty, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland.
Egbe Obayori Okunrin Omoba Akile Ijebu, comprising noble sons of Ijebu born in 1977, 1978, and 1979, was officially formed in 2017. Their debut appearance at Ojude Oba came in 2022, after a two-year hiatus of the festival due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the group has consistently stood out as a symbol of prestige, excellence, and cultural pride.
Leading With Purpose
This year’s entry was led by Giwa Olasunkanmi Lawal (Samosangudu), the visionary Giwa of the Egbe, alongside an array of notable Chiefs, Excos and members including: Balogun Ayanfodun Ajaye, Bashorun Awokoya Abiodun(Nokia), Asiwaju Adewale Kolade-Carew, Secretary- Olanrewaju Abass, Otinwa Olanrewaju etc.
Their majestic appearance featured coordinated attires, dancers, and well-wishers—drawing admiration and applause from all corners of the royal pavilion.
A Message of Gratitude and Hope
In his remarks, Giwa Lawal (Samosangudu) expressed deep appreciation to Almighty God for preserving the group and guiding its journey thus far. He commended the commitment, prayers, and loyalty of members, noting that the strength of any regberegbe lies in the unity and participation of its members.
“We are more than a cultural group. We are brothers in destiny, bound by tradition, growth, and service to our roots. I pray that by Ojude Oba 2026, we will all gather again—stronger, bigger, and more accomplished.” — Giwa Olasunkanmi Lawal.
