Adron Homes Counters Allegations In FIJ Report, Demands Retraction And Public Apology

Real estate firm, Adron Homes and Properties sets record straight over refund dispute, accuses FIJ of unethical journalism…
Leading property development company, Adron Homes & Properties Ltd., has strongly denied claims published by the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) on May 22, 2025, which alleged that the firm failed to refund a client, Mr. Solomon Oludare Akinbo, following a full payment for land at its Treasure Park and Gardens Phase 2 estate in Shimawa, Ogun State.
In a comprehensive rebuttal released by the company’s management, Adron Homes expressed disappointment over what it described as FIJ’s one-sided, inaccurate, and damaging publication. The firm accused the investigative outlet of publishing misleading information without offering Adron Homes an opportunity to present its side of the story — a move the company says contradicts the core principles of responsible journalism.
Setting the Record Straight
Adron Homes stated categorically that it has not, at any time, denied Mr. Akinbo either his land allocation or his right to a refund. According to the firm, the client was provisionally assigned a plot following his stated intention to commence building development.
The company further clarified that its allocation process is governed by a transparent policy — one clearly outlined in the Contract of Sale which Mr. Akinbo willingly signed. Under this policy, clients are expected to submit a formal notice indicating their readiness to build before the allocation is finalized. This, the company noted, is aimed at promoting orderly development and discouraging the abandonment of plots within its estates.
Voluntary Construction Arrangement Misrepresented
Addressing the report’s assertion that the client was pressured into allowing Adron Homes to handle his building project, the company described such a claim as “completely false.” It explained that Mr. Akinbo voluntarily opted for Adron Homes’ in-house construction services and even selected a building design of his choice.
In response, the company prepared and submitted a detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for the client’s review — a standard procedure that gives clients clarity on construction costs. Adron Homes emphasized that clients are not obligated to use its construction services and may hire any certified builder independently.

Claims of Additional Charges Rejected
The real estate firm also pushed back against allegations that it solicited unjustified payments from the client, calling the claim “baseless and defamatory.” It insisted that no additional charges were requested outside of what was contractually agreed upon, and any suggestion otherwise was deliberately misleading.
Refund Procedure Outlined
Concerning the issue of refund, Adron Homes reaffirmed that it operates a clear, step-by-step refund process, which was also included in Mr. Akinbo’s contract. The process requires the submission of a written request, completion of a Refund Form, and return of all original contractual documents in the client’s possession.
Despite multiple reminders, Adron Homes said Mr. Akinbo and his legal representative have failed to meet these obligations, making it impossible for the refund to be processed and finalized.
Condemning FIJ’s Reporting Standards
Adron Homes expressed deep concern over the fact that FIJ proceeded with publication without confirming the company’s side of the story. The firm said the platform’s claim that it reached out prior to publication was misleading, as the report reflected no trace of its official position.
“Their failure to conduct proper due diligence before publishing such damaging content is a serious breach of journalistic ethics,” the statement read.
Demands and Further Action
In light of the situation, Adron Homes has formally called for:
Immediate removal of the article from all FIJ digital platforms
A written public apology from FIJ
A follow-up story correcting the misinformation and presenting Adron Homes’ official position
The company reaffirmed its dedication to professionalism, customer satisfaction, and ethical business conduct, vowing to continue defending its reputation and upholding the trust of its clients.
