Oyeleke Folajuwon Oluwole Backs Pension Reform At National Assembly, Vows To Champion People-Centered Governance

As the National Assembly opens a critical dialogue on reforming Nigeria’s pension system, House of Representatives aspirant for Remo Federal Constituency, Oyeleke Folajuwon Oluwole, joined other stakeholders in a two-day legislative engagement aimed at amending the Pension Reform Act of 2014.
The high-level consultation, convened by the House Committee on Pensions, gathered lawmakers, policy experts, civil society organizations, and advocates to address pressing gaps in the nation’s pension administration. The event, held at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, is in line with constitutional provisions under Section 88(2)(a), which empower legislative oversight on public welfare reforms.
Speaking from the venue, Oyeleke described his participation as an expression of “active listening and early advocacy”—hallmarks of the leadership he hopes to bring to the federal legislature.
“Leadership doesn’t begin with elections; it begins with showing up. Our elders, teachers, and civil servants deserve a pension system that reflects respect and secures their future. I am here to ensure the voice of Remo is heard long before the ballot,” he said.
Oyeleke praised the Committee Chairman, Rep. Hussaini Mohammed Jallo, and Vice Chairman, Hon. (Dr) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (Polam), for their inclusive approach. Notably, he had a warm exchange with Hon. Polam, who offered him words of encouragement upon learning of his aspiration to represent Remo at the National Assembly.

“His support meant a lot. It reminded me that authentic leadership is about lifting others up, not just making laws,” Oyeleke added.
The Remo-born reform advocate stressed that his mission goes beyond politics—it’s about being a consistent voice in national conversations that affect the grassroots. He reaffirmed his commitment to a People-First Agenda, promising compassionate and responsive representation if elected.
“Too many retirees face uncertainty after years of loyal service. It is time we build policies that reflect the values of fairness, dignity, and care. That’s what I stand for,” he said.
As the engagement continues through May 20, Oyeleke’s presence at the forum signals a growing momentum around his campaign—a campaign built not on promises alone, but on action, visibility, and connection.
For Remo. For fairness. For a future that listens before it leads.
