“A Guiding Light Has Departed”: Sagamu Council Boss, Ogbeni Odulate Mourns Alhaja Mujidat Abeke Ogunnaike

The Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaja Mujidat Abeke Ogunnaike, fondly known to him as Ye’Folabi.
In a heartfelt tribute, Ogbeni Odulate described the late matriarch as more than a mother, calling her a guiding light, a symbol of unwavering strength, and a revered political voice not only in Sagamu but throughout Ogun State.

“Her wisdom, gentle counsel, and fervent prayers were a compass for many of us in public service. She was a source of inspiration whose legacy of selfless leadership and devotion to community upliftment will continue to live on,” he said.
He further noted that Alhaja Ogunnaike’s influence transcended generations and political divides, emphasizing her role as a mentor and moral compass to many within and beyond the political space.
“You will be remembered not just with love, but with honour,” he added. “Rest well, Mummy. Safe journey, Alhaja Mujeedat Abeke Ogunnaike.”
