Prominent Sagamu Matriarch, Madam Florence Adewunmi Ojuroye, Laid To Rest Amidst Tributes And Dignitary Attendance

Sagamu, Ogun State – The ancient town of Sagamu came to a standstill as dignitaries, community leaders, and well-wishers gathered to honor the life and legacy of Madam Florence Adewunmi Ojuroye (née Sodimu Dawodu), the revered mother of Bet9ja Managing Director, Mr. Ayo Ojuroye. She passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, at the age of 85.

Born on August 9, 1939, Madam Ojuroye was remembered as a woman of deep faith, strong values, and a nurturing spirit. Her decades-long devotion to family and community uplifted many, earning her love and respect across Remoland and beyond.

The farewell events began with a novelty march and a well-attended service of songs at the Nuga Planet Event Center. The funeral service held at the historic Methodist Church, Oko, Sagamu, drew an outpouring of tributes, prayers, and emotional reflections from family, clergy, and friends. A grand reception followed at the Innova Place Event Center, where guests celebrated her life through music, testimonies, and fellowship.

The ceremonies attracted an array of distinguished guests, underscoring the depth of Madam Ojuroye’s impact. Among those in attendance were:
