Ogun Assembly Members Mourn Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga, Pay Condolence Visit To Family

The Ogun State House of Assembly members have expressed profound grief over the passing of Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga Oriyomi (Ijaya), Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, describing her death as a shocking and irreplaceable loss to the state and the nation, especially to Remo Federal Constituency.

During a condolence visit to the family of the late National Assembly lawmaker, the Assembly members from Ogun East Senatorial District reflected on her immense contributions to legislative excellence and grassroots development, which have left an indelible mark on Ogun State and Nigeria.

Expressing the collective sorrow of the Assembly, Hon. Olalekan Adeleye (Senator), the Minority Leader of the House, described the news of Hon. Onanuga’s death as “a rude shock” and a devastating blow to the legislative community.

“Ijaya was not just a senior national colleague; she was a source of inspiration to many of us in the State Assembly. Her passion for service, her commitment to Ogun State, and her ability to connect with people at all levels will forever remain unmatched. Her death came as a rude shock, and it has left a void that will be difficult to fill,” he lamented.

Hon. Damilare Bello, speaking with The Eaglesforesight correspondence on behalf of the delegation, further emphasized the late lawmaker’s legacy of hard work and selflessness, noting that her life was a testament to unwavering dedication to the people she served.
