Ogun Youths Condemn Arrest Of Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, Accuse Governor Abiodun Of Politicizing Governance

The Concerned Youths of Ogun State have voiced their outrage over the recent detention of Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, popularly known as Lado, by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The group alleges that the arrest was orchestrated in collaboration with the Ogun State Government, led by Governor Dapo Abiodun, as part of a broader campaign to suppress opposition voices following the controversial local government elections.

In a strongly worded statement, the youths decried the elections as a “sham,” claiming that over 90% of polling units lacked ballot boxes, disenfranchising thousands of voters. They accused the state government of diverting attention from pressing issues such as unemployment, hunger, and rising cult-related violence to engage in “vindictive politics.”

“Governor Dapo Abiodun must remember that governance is a trust,” the statement read. “His legacy will not be judged by silencing opposition but by his efforts to uplift Ogun State. No leader remains in power forever, and history will remember those who governed with justice and integrity.”

The group also called on the DSS and other security agencies to maintain neutrality and avoid being used as tools for political vendettas.

They urged all stakeholders in Ogun State to prioritize stability and development over partisanship, warning that the collective aspirations of the people must not be sacrificed on the altar of short-sighted politics.

The statement concludes with a resounding message: “Ogun State belongs to all of us, and we will not sit idly by while our democracy is undermined.”

This development adds fuel to the ongoing discourse on governance and democracy in Ogun State, with many watching closely to see how the administration and security agencies respond to these allegations.
