The Concerned Atan-Lusada-Agbara Youths Group (CALAYG) has called on Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State to as a matter of fairness, consider selecting a center in Otta constituency for the interest of OgunTeach applicants from the area.

During a press briefing at Sango-Otta on Tuesday, (29/10/2024) the group’s coordinator, Comrade Jinad Hammed explained the major pains of people and residents of Otta constituency of Ogun state and implore Governor Abiodun to consider providing necessary relief measures and not add-up to the people’s pain and plight.

In his words, “We are begging Governor Dapo Abiodun to as a matter of urgency rise up to the mandate of his office, and treat people of every regions equally, especially the people of Ado-Odo/Otta. It’s no longer news that Otta, despite being the home local government of the incumbent Deputy Governor, is nothing to write home about it terms of Infrastructural development, general welfarism and care by the present administration.”

Recommended News:

“It’s sad that we need to beg His Excellency Governor Abiodun and the Commissioner of Education before considering a center for the OGUNTEACH program in Otta despite having more than enough facility to host the program.”

“While about three different training centers were selected across other local Government areas, It’s more saddening and unfortunate that despite how much Otta constituency is populous we need to plead before getting one OGUNTEACH Center in the whole of Otta which happens to be the largest industrial settlement and educational hub in Ogun state.” – He furthered.

However, “Considering the state of roads in Ogun State and the current cost of transportation, it won’t be fair for the applicants to go as far as Ilaro or Abeokuta just for same program which people of other Local Governments are doing at the comfort of their areas”. It is clearly unfair to us.

In my conclusion, I hereby humbly call on Governor Abiodun to stop making it look real that truly he doesn’t care about the people of Ado-Odo/Otta Local Government.
