Drama As Police Arrests MAPOLY Student For Buying Pregnancy Test Strips; NANS Reacts

Police has reportedly arrested a student of Moshod Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta for buying pregnancy tests strips and post pills, Eaglesforesight online news understand.

According to a twitter user @Sisi_Olole who claimed that the victim is her sister disclosed the incident on her twitter handle that her sister was arrested by police attached to Ita Oluwo Police Post.

She wrote:

“My sister a student of mapoly just got arrested for going to buy postpill and pregnancy strip. She’s at police post Abeokuta. Please help me oooo this police thing don reach my side @SavvyRinu @TundeTASH I’d not know who else to contact.

“Please my sister just got arrested at police post ita Oluwo. 09067910382 they’ve seized her phone please help me I’m in lagos I can’t even do anything from here.”

In another development, the National Association of Nigerian Students, Southwest Zone led by Comr. Tegbe Stephen has written to police force to fished out officers who detained the student within 24 hours, and also return all funds collected from her in pretence of bail.

The Leadership of NANS SouthWest Zone D, as a matter of urgency been keeping tab on the above mentioned issue since when the news was published, hence with our findings, after a call put through to the affected student and her Lawyer, who’s already ready to file a case

1. we learnt that truly she was arrested for buying postpill and pregnant test kit

2. That she was extort for a big sum of money before the lawyer’s Intervention, in the name of granting her bail

We hereby cry out to the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, as a matter of urgency to please kindly fish out the unprofessional set of policemen who did this messy work and get the affected student’s money refunded with an ultimatum of 24 hours or the police commission faces mass action from the students’ wing.
