BREAKING: Popular Islamic Singer Rukayat Gawat Dies

Popular Islamic singer, Alhaja Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso has passed away.

Rukayat was known for her distinct voice and religious songs, which deeply resonated with many in the Muslim community.

The late singer was married to Alhaji Shakiri Oyefeso.

She was pronounced dead in the early hours of Tuesday.

The Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Jubril Gawat, who is a relative of the deceased confirmed her death.

Gawat tweeted: “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.” Q 2 V 156.”

Also, Sanwo-Olu’s aide, Gboyega Akosile said: ““Ina lillahi waina ilaehi rajiun” May the Almighty Allah, who is the giver and taker of life console the family of my dear brothers @Mr_JAGs @tfk_gawat on the demise of our beloved sister, Rukayat.

“May Aljannah firdaus be her permanent home. May Allah grant you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”

Her remains will be interred later today according to Islamic tenets and rites.
