Idado Community Celebrates Grand Finale of Inaugural Lidero Festival in Sagamu

Idado, a vibrant community in Sagamu, Ogun State under the kingship of HRH Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, the Radanuwa of Idado community, was abuzz as the inaugural Lidero Festival came to a spectacular close on Saturday, September 21, 2024. The grand finale, held at Cinema Road Junction, drew in dignitaries, traditional rulers, and celebrities, culminating an eight-day celebration of culture, unity, and heritage.

The Radanuwa of Idado, Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, hosted the historic festival, which featured a rich blend of cultural presentations, traditional eulogies, and awards honoring outstanding individuals in the community. The festivities kicked off with a community-wide sanitation effort, followed by performances that highlighted the deep cultural roots of Remoland.

In attendance were prominent royal figures, including the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, along with other revered monarchs such as the Elepe of Epe, the Alaperu of Iperu, and the Onilaye of Ilaye, among others. These royal guests were joined by high chiefs, notable residents, and the sons and daughters of Idado, both at home and abroad.

During the grand finale, Oba Musiliu Soile expressed his joy at the success of the festival’s maiden edition. “It’s hard to believe this is our first celebration because everything was executed so flawlessly. I’m truly grateful to God and to everyone who supported us,” the monarch said.

Several community leaders like SYA president, Comrade Olugbenga Lawal popularly known as Ambassador Easy, Comrade Bashiru Hammed Adewale popularly known as Honourable Prince Lahbash (SYA Special Duty 1), Arsenal (NYCN Pioneer coordinator), Waheed Obey (SYA stakeholder) and others from Sagamu Youth Association makes their presence known, some were recognized for their contributions, with awards given to High Chief Makanjuola (Lisa Idado) as Outstanding Chief of the Year, Ademola Ismail Olamilekan as Youth Motivator of the Year, and Hon. Muyideen Alayo as the Most Outstanding Youth of the Year. Other honorees included Mrs. Oladapo Sulaimon and Comrade Akinola Akinsola for their leadership and achievements.

The celebration ended with an all-night party featuring performances by various artists, including a headline show from Fuji star Sulaimon Adio Oladele Oyeneye, better known as “Atawewe,” leaving the crowd thrilled and the community in high spirits.

The Lidero Festival has set a new cultural standard in Idado, with residents already looking forward to the next edition of this vibrant celebration.
