BREAKING: Security Operatives Raid Sosanwo’s Residence, Kanu’s PA, Arrest Four Family Members
In a shocking turn of events, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was reportedly rearrested on June 19th, 2021, sparking a chain reaction of events that has left his supporters and family members reeling. Just a month later, on July 20th, 2021, the residence of Sosanwo Oluwaseun Nojeem, one of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s personal assistant, was invaded by Security Operatives, resulting in the arrest and detention of Sosanwo’s wife and three other children.
The Security Operatives who was suspected to be from Department of State Security (DSS) has arrested the family of Sosanwo Oluwaseun Nojeem at his residence in Sagamu, Ogun State.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s rearrest was the culmination of a global manhunt, with security agencies from various countries collaborating to apprehend the IPOB leader. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who had been on the run since 2017, was reportedly arrested in Kenya and to be extradited to Nigeria, where he is to be facing charges related to terrorism and treason.
The raid on Sosanwo’s residence, located at 95 Akarigbo Road, Itunlosi, Offin, Sagamu, has raised concerns about the safety and security of IPOB leader close allies and their families. Sosanwo, who serves as Mazi Kanu’s strategic and formation planning assistant, is a key figure in the IPOB and a close associate of the embattled leader.
The circumstances surrounding the invasion and arrests are still unclear, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the identity of the Security Operatives and their motives. Authorities have yet to release a statement on the incident, fueling speculation and concern among IPOB supporters and human rights groups.
The rearrested of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the subsequent raid on Sosanwo’s residence have raised concerns about human rights violations and the targeting of IPOB members and their families.
