TRAGEDY STRIKES IN OGUN: Fatal Accident Claims Life, 2 Injured In Sagamu [Photos]
A devastating accident occurred in Agura, Sagamu, Ogun State, resulting in the loss of one life and leaving two others injured. The deceased, Mrs. Morili Olatunji, a corn roaster, was struck by a hit-and-run driver with a car bearing the plate number Lagos: KRD-323JM. The driver, whose identity remains unknown as at the time of filing this report, is currently on the run, leaving the community in shock and outrage.
The incident, which happened on a Tuesday , 23rd of July, 2024, has sent shockwaves through the community, with many residents expressing their condolences to the family of the deceased. The two injured victims, Mary Jay Stitches & Fabrics Venture, a container user, and Balikis Seidu (who is the deceased daughter), are receiving treatment at a hospital, with their conditions reported to be stable.

The incident was reported to the DPO of Sakura division, Sagamu, by a community youth leader, Comrade Fasasi Damilare, who witnessed the accident. The police have taken immediate action, towing the car to the station and promising further investigations to apprehend the fleeing driver.
Efforts are being made to apprehend the car owner, with the Seriki Hausa in Sabo Sagamu engaged to provide assistance. Although the owner remains at large, the driver’s license and other documents were recovered from the car, which is expected to aid in the investigation.
The youths of Agura community and Association of Sabo Youths, including the Sagamu Youth Association, have vowed to follow the case to its conclusion, ensuring that the alleged culprit faces justice for his actions.The youths have promised to work closely with the police to ensure that the driver is brought to book and made him to face the consequences of his offense.
The Sagamu Youth Association is calling for justice for the deceased and the injured victims, and for measures to be put in place to prevent such accidents from happening in the future.
The incident has once again highlighted the need for drivers to be cautious and responsible on the roads, and for the authorities to take decisive action against those who flout traffic laws.
