Tinubu Approves N70,000 As New Minimum Wage For Nigerian Workers

President Bola Tinubu has approved N70,000 as the new minimum wage for Nigerian workers.

The Eaglesforesight gathered that Tinubu announced the new minimum wage during a meeting held with leaders of the Trade Union Congress, TUC and the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, on Thursday in Abuja.

A statement by the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, revealed that the new minimum wage will be reviewed every three years.

Onanuga noted that labour leaders praised Tinubu’s fatherly gesture, and the President also vowed to exercise his executive discretion to address the outstanding four months’ salaries owed to university unions.

The statement read, “President approves N70,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers with promise to review the national minimum wage law every three years.”
