Police In Lagos Take Action, Arrests Funmi Faith, Woman Accused Of Child Maltreatment
The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended Funmi Faith, a 32-year-old woman, on allegations of mistreating a female child. State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Wednesday.
The incident came to light when a concerned individual shared a video online, seeking assistance to rescue the maltreated child. The video, accompanied by a voice condemning the treatment as “dehumanizing,” prompted appeals to the Lagos State government for intervention.
According to SP Hundeyin, Faith was apprehended by officers from the Oke-odo Division on Tuesday following the circulation of the video.

In response to the situation, the child has been placed under the care of the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development for proper care and shelter.
