Enough Of Your Heartlessness, Ogun PDP Tells Abiodun Over Demolition Of Buildings At Ajegunle-Araromi
In a deep concern over the disregard to rule of law by the All Progressive Congress, APC party, under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun as the Ogun State Governor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogun State chapter has condemned the demolition of buildings at Ajegunle-Araromi in Makun, Sagamu.
The opposition party through its Publicity Secretary, Asiwaju Akinloye Bankole, has voiced their concerns as law-abiding residents of the Ajegunle/Araromi community in the Makun area of Sagamu local government homes and investments have been demolished in a manner that is stirring outrage.
Asiwaju Akinloye stated that the affected residents, who possess valid and legitimate property documents, have been left devastated by the recent actions of the Dapo Abiodun-led government, which blatantly disregarded a court injunction restraining any further actions regarding the land.
“It has come to our knowledge that the government initiated these demolitions with the intent to resell the land to a Chinese company for undisclosed industrial purposes, all without offering any form of compensation to the affected landowners. Only an insensitive and clueless government would fail to prioritize compensation for those affected in such circumstances.”
“It is important to remind Mr. Dapo Abiodun and his agents of destruction that the powers of a Governor as stipulated in the Land Use Act under the Constitution made the Governor trustee only of all land on behalf of the people. The governor can only revoke land for public use.”
“A governor can not revoke the land title of private citizens and reallocate them to another private citizen or entity. Therefore, the powers of any governor under the Land Use Act are not absolute.”

“We cannot predict where Mr Abiodun’s bulldozers will go next after the Makun community. It is time for all of us to unite and put an end to this agony.”
