Naira Scarcity: CBN Debunk Alledged Plot Against Tinubu

The Central Bank Of Nigeria CBN, has denied the news on social media that it’s governor , Godwin Emefiele has launched a fresh plot against the Nigeria’s President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu using the naira crunch.

The news which was published on a popular Nigerian newspaper known as The Nationa Newspaper on Monday 13th March alleging that the CBN governor has deviced a fresh plot against the president-elect.

The publication further alledged that the CBN governor has released a certain amount of money to some candidates ahead of the March 18 governoship and State Assembly Election.

Reacting to publication, the CBN’s director Cooperate Communication Mr Isa Abdulmumin in a statement said that the publication is completely false and malicious against the CBN.

He further stated that the Godwin Emefiele is not a politician and have not participated in a political activities and therefore urged anybody with contrary information to come forward and prove the CBN governor wrong.

EMEFIELE DEBUNKS FAKE NEWS Titled: “Emefiele launches fresh plot against President-elect Tinubu” The attention of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been drawn to a story published in The Nation newspaper of Monday, March 13, 2023 edition, alleging that the Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele has launched a “fresh plot against President-elect”.

“The aforementioned story went further to allege that the Governor has made a certain amount of money available to a candidate ahead of the March 18, 2023, gubernatorial poll.

“We wish to inform members of the public that this story is completely false and malicious as the CBN Governor does not know and has never met or even spoken with Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, either in person or through a proxy.

“We wish to reiterate that the CBN Governor does not take part in politics and therefore urge anyone with contrary information to prove the Governor wrong by providing any facts.

“As such, the Governor and his team at the CBN should be allowed to focus ontheir assigned job with a view to achieving the statutory mandate of the Bank.
