Coalition Of Transport Unions Debunks Allegations Against Abiodun, APC
The Coalition of Transport Unions in Ogun State, has been debunked by a faceless group called Egba Patriotic Front that the governor of Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are planning to give military uniforms to thugs to scuttle the coming poll.
The group in a release signed by one Olu Adejobi Coker also alleged that the governor and APC are trying to bypass the BVAS.
But the transport union in a rejoinder signed by Spokesman, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya described the allegations as “laughable and the greatest lies of the century”.
The release reads; “The attention of the leaders of the Coalition of Transport Unions in Ogun State, has been drawn to a press release by one Olu Adejobi Coker fronting for a faceless group called the Egba Patriotic Front.
“The group had falsely alleged that the people’s governor of Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun and APC are planning to give military uniforms to thugs and also trying to bypass the BVAS.
“These allegations are indeed laughable and can be best described as the greatest lies of the century.
“We would have loved to ignore this fabricated lies and blackmail, coming from some frustrated members of the opposition party PDP, but because most names mentioned in the allegation are leaders of the Ogun State Coalition of Transport Unions.

“So there is a need for us to clear the air. The fear of over 80,000 members of the Coalition giving support to Dapo Abiodun /APC, has continuously become a nightmare and headache for the opposition in Ogun state. This we know for sure and the more reason why they choose this unprofessional blackmail style.
“The good people of Ogun state will bear eloquent testimony to the fact that our coalition of transport unions in the state, have been engaging and sensitizing our members and the general on the 2023 elections especially against electoral violence and thuggery.
“In recent times, we have organized sensitization programmes, to sensitize our members on the need to support the second term & re-election bid of Prince Dapo Abiodun.
“We have also organized many solidarity, declaration and endorsement rallies in this regard. The motive of those behind these allegations are well known to us which is simply the fear of defeat and unknown.
“We hereby challenge the so called Olu Adejobi Coker and his colleagues in Egba Patriotic Front to meet us at the DSS office or Police headquarters in Abeokuta, to proof their allegations beyond reasonable doubt and failure to do so, shall warrant us to take all legal steps against them.
“We hereby urge all security agencies in Ogun state, to please identify the leaders of this Egba Patriotic Front and invite them for a detailed questioning and interrogations.
*Who knows if they are the one even planning such evil acts. We also use this medium to encourage the good people of Ogun State, to come out en masse on Saturday 18th March, 2023 and ensure they cast their votes for the people’s Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun. Never will those who brought violence and agonies (PDP) to the state rule us again”, the release added.
