Stop Personalizing Government Institutions — Ogun PDP To Gov Abiodun

…Says no amount of desperation would save APC from defeat.

The People’s Democratic Party PDP Ogun State has accused Gov. Dapo Abiodun of personalising government institutions for his personal use, stating that unending appetite in reducing the core values of governance and public Institutions that are statutorily meant to serve the common good of the people of Ogun state has become so alarming.

This was made known in a statement made available to newsmen by the party’s publicity secretary, Bankola Akinkoye alleged that Gov. Abiodun had turned the public institution of government into an arm of his private enterprise, using it to promote his political agenda.

Akinloye alleged that It would be recalled that not too long ago, Ogun state taxpayer funds were deployed on the instructions of Mr Governor to members of the APC with the unregulated appointment of 10 people (members of the APC) per polling unit (across the state) for inclusion into the State Social Investment Benefits Scheme being launched by the state government.

He added that the undemocratic voyage of self-preservation, of Gov. Dapo Abiodun, had thrown caution into the winds with all sorts of manipulation, conspiracy and immoral collaboration with the leadership of the APC to weaponize government institutions against anyone who does not belong to the APC in Ogun state.

“This can not and should not be the immediate priority of any reasonable government whose workforce and retirees are still being owed at the moment”. He said.

Akinloye boasted for PDP, Social Intervention Schemes should not be politicized against a section of the public; noting that it would serve as a socio-economic platform for deliberate enhancement and empowerment of the people who have suffered all manners of socioeconomic agonies.

“As if that is not terrible enough, the attitude of the Dapo Abiodun government is still manifestly on display with the use of public media organizations such as the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation, OGBC and Ogun State Television, OGTV as his and other candidates of the APC exclusive right to public airing; alleging that he is preventing access and media coverage for other political parties in the state as the 2023 electoral process builds up.

“This is simply the height of disservice to the good people of the state who deserve the right to information dissemination without rancour”.

“The governor is at the liberty to convert the whole structure of democratic governance and its institutions to personal use, the good people of Ogun state would not reward his brazen desperation and greed with reelection at the polls.

“Again, being a responsible political organization, the PDP would continue to assist the government by reminding the governor that despite all the noise that rented the entire space a few months ago about completing and commissioning the Agro cargo Airport at Iperu, the project is nowhere near completion. We hope the monies meant for it have not found its ways to private vaults.

“We do not want it abandoned to rot away like several others before it”. He stated.
