Terrorists invade the community of Katsina and kill 41 guards
Facts emerged on Friday that terrorists killed 41 guards and wounded two others in an ambush on Thursday in the Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.
A statement about the incident by the spokesman of the Katsina Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, on Friday confirmed the incident.
The statement read: “On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at about 11:00 PM, terrorists in their numbers, firing indiscriminately with AK 47 rifles, attacked the house of an Alhaji Muntari in Unguwar Audu Gare, Kandarawa, Bakori Local Government Area and rustled 50 cows and 30 sheep.
“Subsequently, on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at approximately 10 a.m., a group banned by Yansakai from 11 villages in the Bakori Local Government Area regrouped and went after the terrorists with a view to recovering the rustling pets. They followed the crooks’ footpaths to a location in the forest of Yargoje.
“Unfortunately, the terrorists planned and launched a coordinated ambush on the Yansakai. The thugs shot and killed 41 Yansakai members and wounded two. Area commander, Malumfashi, led a team of police officers to the crime scene and took the corpses and injured to Kankara General Hospital. A joint security operation is currently underway to deal with the perpetrators. The investigation is ongoing, please.”
City round An investigation revealed that the majority of the bodies were recovered from the scene of the incident on Friday for burial.
