Why I will be re-elected
Kwara state governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has boasted that his re-election for a second four-year term will be a breeze.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Kwara State All Progressives Congress Campaign Council, which has more than 2,000 members, the governor said his administration’s achievements will ease their duties in the state’s 193 political branches.
“As a government, we have made your job easy through what we have done in every part of the state. We encountered dilapidated basic health and education structures, poor infrastructure, and lack of water supply all over the state. We’ve gone a long way to overcome that. We have done extremely well in all sectors.
“We have stabilized things, and the coming years will serve to consolidate our achievements and position our state for greatness and positively empower our people, especially young people and women.
“The previous governments could not even pay salaries, pensions and tips, despite the huge sums they received. In the last two months we have paid approximately N6 billion to clear back wages, pensions and tips for 2009, 2010 and now 2011.
“We will continue to scale up what we have done in health, education, agriculture, road infrastructure and social safety net,” the governor was quoted in a statement by his spokesman, Rafiu Ajakaiye.
He instructed council members to consolidate the success of 2019 by securing his re-election and that of All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.
“You are tasked with delivering our party, just as you did in 2019. The immediate challenge is to deliver Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the next President of Nigeria. Then you must deliver all our Senators and Members of the House of Representatives by February 25, 2023. You must also deliver all our candidates in the March 12 gubernatorial and House of Representatives elections,” AbdulRazaq said.
He also encouraged the young to learn from the experiences and guidance of the elders to ensure the success of the party.
