The woman of government wants more women to participate in politics
The wife of the Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has stressed the need for more women to participate in elections and in the state’s political process.
Sanwo-Olu made the call, according to a statement on Wednesday, during a meeting with women candidates from the All Progressives Congress and women professionals at Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.
She said: “Lagos has always set a good example for women’s equitable participation in politics and administration. Today, we have women in strategic positions in state executive councils, ministries, commissions, departments and government agencies.
“More women professionals in diverse fields of human endeavor are encouraged to participate in the electoral and political process and it is in our collective interest that all stakeholders get involved.
“It is also important for women to elevate other women, especially those women who dare to run for electoral positions. For us, our candidates Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for the presidential election continue to raise a renewed hope for Nigeria; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to promote wider insurgency in Lagos; and indeed all APC candidates to deepen and accelerate development in our state and country.
