Chief Chekwas Okorie, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has appointed Jonathan Elendu as director general of his presidential campaign organization.
This is just as Okorie also revealed Hajia Hadiza Mohammed as the party’s vice presidential candidate ahead of elections this month.
Chief Okorie presented the vice presidential candidate to party supporters and said that Hajia Mohammed is an accomplished personality with a solid education and varied academic prominence.
He expressed confidence that their manifesto
will resonate and introduce fresh and exciting new narratives to their proposed governance agenda and progressive ideological thrust as Nigerians give them their mandate to run the country’s affairs.
He further stated that the rich profile of his campaign director general demonstrates his broad experience and knowledge as a publisher, author, poet and public affairs analyst both in Nigeria and in many countries abroad.
She said that APGA has currently and previously proven that they respect gender equality in Nigerian political experiments.
“Today I call on all Nigerian women to join APGA and vote for APGA to empower women and deliver good governance. APGA is the only party that can give women, including Northern Women, the liberal opportunity to explore their political potential without financial or sexual exploitation.
“APGA is a safe haven for all Nigerian women. I call on all Nigerian women today to join APGA with honorable immediate effect to ensure we vote APGA to bring about the desired positive change we have long sought in Nigeria.
“My fellow women, this is our chance. This is our moment. APGA has led the way and I will follow Chief Chekwas Okorie. Let’s gather in millions to vote for The Chekwas – Hadiza ticket on February 25,” she commented.
While Elendu accepted to be the presidential campaign director general for APGA, he said the country’s democracy is fraught with injustice and severe sabotage by people who should be staunch defenders of our collective heritage.
He said Nigeria must be saved from the clutches of an unworkable link that has made the development of the country and its peoples almost a mirage.
“In the coming days and weeks, we will traverse Nigeria to sell your message of hope, your vision of a new Nigeria, your formula for a renewed Nigeria, where security of life and property are not just words that bear no resemblance to the reality of our lives.
“I know that with your highly experienced running mate by your side, Nigerians will invest in your vision by casting their vote for the Chekwas and Hadiza ticket,” he added.
