The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara state on Tuesday inaugurated more than 3,000 voters dubbed “Diplomates” for its presidential and governorship candidates Atiku Abukakar and Abdullahi Yaman, respectively.

Speaking at the event, the director general of the state’s Atiku/Okowa Campaign Council, Dr. Mahmud Babatunde Ajeigbe, that the structure consisted mainly of youth from the 16 local government areas in the state to recruit and mobilize voters for the party.

“This is necessary because there is quite a bit of information gap and the need to further sensitize voters in terms of how they will cast their ballot and choice of party to vote for.

“This election is about who has reached the most people who believe in the message being sent,” he said.

Ajeigbe further stated that people should “know, be educated and enlightened to support the PDP by being the party that can change things in 2023”.

He said the PDP’s quest to return to power cannot be done through the media alone.

“The ‘diplomats’ are more than 3,000 scattered across the state. What we have here is a representative structure of each district and local government and we each have three coordinators.

“This election is about who has reached the most people who believe in the message being sent.

“That’s why you see different content being put out because different areas have different specifics and needs. to listen but understand the PDP message,” he said.

The organizer, Opeyemi Alao, who is also the founder of the Abral Development Initiative, also described the Atiku/Yaman diplomat as a new form of rebirth democracy.

“The situation in the country calls for urgent rescue efforts. The vision of Alhaji Atiku and Alhaji Abdullahi Yaman can only be achieved through collective efforts imbued with energy of patriotic Nigerian youth.

“Our vision is to win patriotic souls for Atiku and Yaman with the sole purpose of PDP winning over the 16 local governments in Kwara State and Nigeria to enable growth, security, prosperity and abundance.”
