Gombe gov, former minister of sports mourns emir van Dutse
Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has said that the demise of the first-class Dutse traditional ruler of Jigawa State, late Alhaji Dr. Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi, especially at this time, was a great loss not only to the Emirate of Dutse in Jigawa State. but the country as a whole.
The governor therefore expressed his condolences to the government and people of Jigawa state on the death of Emir, who died on Tuesday after a short illness at the age of 78.
In a message of condolence, the governor described the monarch as a respected and resourceful royal father who was always at the forefront of preaching and promoting unity and harmony among the people of his domain, the state of Jigawa and the nation as a whole.
Inuwa Yahaya consoled the bereaved royal family to take solace in the fact that the late Emir left a legacy of honour, dignity and selfless service and urged them to uphold and maintain the same.
The Governor, on behalf of the government and people of Gombe State, expressed his condolences to his counterpart of Jigawa State, Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, the State Council of Emirs and Chiefs, members of the Dutch Royal Family, as well as the government and people of the State . about the great loss, praying to Allah Almighty to grant the deceased monarch Aljannat Firdaus and comfort those he left behind.
He prayed for the repose of the late traditional ruler and also prayed that Allah grant his soul eternal rest in Aljanat Firdaus, as contained in a statement from Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director General (Press Affairs), Government House.
A former Minister of Sports and Special Tasks, Prof. Taoheed Adedoja, has also lamented the death of the Emir, saying his 28-year rule over the ancient city of Dutse radiated peace, friendship and unity of Nigeria.
This was in a message of condolence to the family of the late Emir, the government and people of Jigawa State and was made available to journalists on Wednesday by Prof. Adedoja, former pro-chancellor and chairman of the board of directors of Federal University, Dutse (2014 to 2016)
According to him, “It is sad news to me and members of my family, although the late Emir was my eldest at Kano Teachers College, Kano, he dealt with me as a brother and friend before and during his 28 years reign as Emir of Old City Dutse, also remembering that Dutse Palace became my home when I was the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Federal University, Dutse from 2014 to 2016.
“His rule as Emir radiated peace, friendship and unity of Nigeria.
My condolences to the family, the Emirate of Dutse and the Governor of Jigawa State, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, as we pray to Allah to accept him in aljannatul firdaus. Amin”.
