Make our borders impenetrable, Buhari orders immigration
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.), has ordered the Nigerian Immigration Service to make the border into the country impenetrable to infiltrators ahead of the upcoming elections.
This is stated in a statement issued to journalists by the Ministry of the Interior on Tuesday.
The minister, Rauf Aregebesola, through his media adviser, Sola Fasure, conveyed Buhari’s directive during the opening of the Katsina NIS command office and the rollout of the enhanced e-passport in the state.
He said: “President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered that Nigeria’s borders be made impenetrable to foreign bodies who would like to manipulate the electoral process or engage in other nefarious activities.”
According to Aregbesola, the president’s order between now and the period when Nigeria closes all elections is that the NIS should make the country’s borders impregnable, even after the elections.
