As the All Progressive Congress in Benue state heads for its scheduled rerun of primaries scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, the party in the state has sounded the alarm about some disgruntled elements planning to disrupt the process.

In a statement by Amande Msughter Solomon and Tofi Simon Ternenge, convener and state director of Alia Media Volunteers respectively accused a group “Benue Youth Forum” of allegedly spreading fake news to mislead the people to have a misconception about the planned repeat of the primaries.

But in a quick response, state police commissioner Wale Abbas has stated that there will be adequate security in all affected local government areas where the recurrence is taking place.

“There is no cause for alarm, we have established adequate security in all areas to prevent any violation of the peace,” Abbas assured.

While responding to a BYF statement accusing APC of court deferring to conduct a rerun of the primary.

The Benue Youth Forum had accused the party of not waiting for the Supreme Court ruling instead of holding the primaries rerun.

“As it stands, the APC is warming up to once again ignoring the election law and other existing laws of the country. This is because the election is less than 60 days away and the scheduled rerun, which in itself is another illegality, comes barely a week after the appeals court ruling, which has now been appealed to the Supreme Court, the forum said in his earlier statement.

But the Alia Media Volunteers describe the statement as an “evil scheme by the PDP-led government in Benue State, which reliably informs us that they have recruited miscreants, semi-illiterates, mercenaries and paid thugs to wreak havoc.” in the state during the APC governorship repeat primaries, part of which is the media stunt of Benue Youth Forum to raise unnecessary alarms, whose leaders of the sponsored groups are familiar faces around the Benue State government building, with unwavering allegiance to the governor.

“As Benue citizens, we have deemed it of utmost importance at this time to awaken the minds of Benue people and Nigerians to this ugly development and evil plans of the PDP supposedly sponsored groups and their cronies who are spreading disharmony and unnecessary crisis in Benue. state.

It is worth noting that Benue has called PDP one of the worst candidates in the history of democracy around the world, as such they fear going into the general election with a formidable and strong contender in the person of Fr. Hyacinth Alia from APC who knows about the state’s problems.

The group explained that APC is a law-abiding cause for complying with the court order by agreeing to a rerun of the gubernatorial primaries as ordered by the court.

“It is well established that the APC has also complied in the past with even unpopular orders from state and local governments directed at them without complaint, so there is no basis for anyone or groups sponsored by the PDP to reach out to the APC pointing. or try to put the party in a bad light.

The group called on security agencies and APC stakeholders, the state exco and the national work committee to be on the alert to avert the evil plans of those it described as disgruntled elements bent on preventing the primaries from repeating themselves. to disturb.
