Nollywood actor Junior Pope Odonwodo has shared his experience with armed robbers in Ubulu Okiti, Delta State.

The actor took to his Instagram page where he shared the horrible experience that happened on Sunday as they were traveling back home from a movie set.

“Last night, when I came back from work, I was robbed at gunpoint,” he said in the video shared Monday.

“I was driving my car with my colleagues, the twins Georgina Ibeh and Shire, and we were robbed around Ubulu Okiti at gunpoint.

“They stole everything, took everything, phones; searched the vehicle. Footwear, production shoes, my bags with my passport in one of them and personal belongings taken. My Permanent Voter Card, my ID card and much more.”

Odonwodo said he saw the robbers’ roadblock from a distance. However, when he tried to reverse his car, he ended up hitting a colleague, Emma Umeh, who was driving behind him.

Then the armed robbers emerged from the bushes along the road, asked them to lie down and searched the vehicle.

“When they asked us to drive away, we drove. When we got to customs, we reported,” he continued. “Customs actually told us that a first group of people had come to report being stabbed, injured. It occurs regularly in the same place.”

The actor further revealed that Georgina Ibeh, whom they left behind at the scene of the incident, was almost raped by the robbers. According to her, she was only released after she told the men she was menstruating.

The actor called on the competent authorities to take action regarding the specific road as it had become a regular problem.

“It’s not that the police don’t know, I’m pretty sure they do. I’m calling the police commissioner, Delta State. I call on the governor of the Delta state, Ifeanyi Okowa, to please do something about this,” he said.

He further recommended that people get their permanent voter cards and cast their ballots in February.
