Ekiti 2022: Pick SSG as your successor – Group advises Fayemi
Ahead of the 2022 governorship election in Ekiti State, a political group named Ekiti Progressive Force (EPF), has advised the state governor, Kayode Fayemi, to pick the current Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Hon. Abiodun Oyebanji as his successor for continuation of his good job.
The group said Oyebanji possesses all the qualities, competence, capabilities, capacities and experiences needed to actualize a better Ekiti State after the completion of the second term of Governor Kayode Fayemi.
The group believes Oyebanji, who has been part of the Fayemi’s government throughout the first term, during the break, when he was minister and understands the terrain to continue the good work being executed by the Gov. Kayode Fayemi-led administration, but not someone who will take us years back.
EPF made a passionate appeal to Fayemi to pick a visionary and progressive-minded loyalist as his successor for continuation of his good job.
To this end, the group suggested the choice of the current Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Hon. Abiodun Oyebanji, considering his antecedents and possessing all the required qualities to actualise his vision and take the state to its next level.

Hon. Ademola Adeleye, who addressed newsmen on behalf of the group after their inaugural meeting held at the Airport Hotel Lagos on Saturday, said “though, he is yet to openly declare his intention for the top seat, but from those that are currently agitating to contest the gubernatorial election in 2022, we find him the best among all?
Adeleye, who is the Chairman of the group, said members are reputable indigenes, young professionals and enterpreneurs in diverse fields with passion and commitment to drive togetherness, love and peaceful coexistence in the state
He said that the group is convinced beyond reasonable doubt that Oyebanji possesses all the qualities, competence, capabilities, capacities and experiences needed to actualize a better Ekiti State after the completion of the second term of Governor Kayode Fayemi.

“At this point, we need someone, who has been part of the Government and understands the terrain to continue the good work being executed by the Gov. Kayode Fayemi-led administration, but not someone who will take us years back.
“We believe that with somebody like the current SSG, who has been with this government throughout the first term, during the break, when he was minister and still together will know the terrain, where the good work stops and where to pick it from.
“He knows where the administration stops, but not someone that will be asking questions on ongoing projects and other steps that will take the state back for several years.
The group expressed confidence in Oyebanji to lead a government with comprehensive policies that encompass monumental infrastructural and human development with unprecedented economic growth.
According to him: Oyebanji’s leadership traits is needed for the sustainability development and growth of the State.
“We can all see his inspirational leadership style of governance under JKF2, making politics interesting for the people without any distraction.
“Oyebanji is judiciously using the funds allocated to his office for the growth of the party and it’s members, he responds to party members request without delay and he has been a good administrator.
“Oyebanji impactful relativism towards the people has single him out to be a great leader of high pedigree.
“His transverse administrative style of governance is nothing but a consistent one.
“Looking at the incredible role played as the youngest member and Secretary of the movement for creation of Ekiti, one will applauds him for having the developmental interest of his home state at heart.
“Oyebanji has served meritorious from the administration of Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, the first Civilian Governor of the State till moment.”
The group described Oyebanji as a goal getter, seasoned administrator and great political gladiator, who will see to the development of the State and make live good for all and sundry.
“As good citizens committed to the progress, unity and stability of Ekiti State, it is our inalienable right to throw our weight and give our unrelenting support to any individual capable of bringing about good, exemplary, responsive and progressive leadership. That is why we are endorsing Hon. Abiodun Oyebanji to contest for the governorship seat in 2022 and we assure him of our support.
“Oyebanji transformational leadership acumen, outstanding, managerial skills and futuristic orientation stand him out among all.
“We are convinced beyond every reasonable doubt that he possesses all the qualities, capacities, and experiences required to actualize the Ekiti State of our dream and aspirations of the citizens.
“We are not unaware that the task is onerous and enormous; it demands the collective efforts of all indegenes of good conscience, love and passion for a progressive and prosperous Ekiti State.”
Adeleye said that as a group, they recognized the needful to partner with eminent Ekiti people willing to identify with Oyebanji come 2022, saying they are already consulting and gathering support for the great course they strongly believe in.
He said that as a group craving for the consolidation of “our democracy and yearning for a prosperous Ekiti State come 2022, they are fully ready to mobilise for his emergence.
“Though Oyebanji already enjoys the support of his followers, which cut across several political parties, beyond only APC and PDP who are always ready to come together for the actualization of the course. That is why we must unanimously call on him to seek intention come next year.
“No going back on our resolution for Oyebanji to contest the seat of Governor of the State come next year. We shall formally submit a letter of our unanimous resolution to his office in the next couple of days, seeking his interest to contest Ekiti 2022 guber poll,” Adeleye added.
