The victim’s sister, who did not want her name mentioned in print for personal reasons, said Oluwatobi was last seen on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the Prayer City of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Magboro.
She told our correspondent that her brother lives at the Sparklight Estate, opposite MFM, and was an ex-student of the Mountain Top University, Magboro.
She said, “My brother, who is a marketer, was last seen by a friend’s mother on November 30 inside the Prayer City. His phone numbers have not been going through. We have called his friends and his office; everybody is aware that he is nowhere to be found.
“We went to his house to check on him but he was not inside. We also looked for clues that could lead us to his whereabouts but found nothing. He was last seen carrying the chicken that he wanted to cook at home. From what we saw inside his house, he cooked the chicken because we saw the pot.”
Oluwatobi’s sister said the matter was reported at the Ibafo Police Station, adding that nothing had been done concerning the whereabouts of her missing brother.
“At the station, I pleaded that we should go to the MTN office to get information about the last phone numbers he dialled. They (police) gave me a note to take to MTN, but when I got there, MTN’s representatives said they could not give someone else’s personal information to another person. They said the police were supposed to approach them for such information and directed us back to the police,” she added.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the family ignored protocol before approaching the telecommunication company.
He said, “The letter they will take to MTN must be signed by an Assistant Commissioner of Police. Instead of waiting, they rushed down to the place on their own.”
He added that the letter MTN requested had been taken to the police area command for the required signature, adding that effort was ongoing to investigate the matter at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
