2023: A Victory For PDP, Victory For Democracy —Rev Olusola Salau As Appeal Court Order For Reinstatement Of PDP Candidates
A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Reverend Olusola Emmanuel Salau, has reacted to the judgment of the Appeal Court sitting in Ibadan which reinstated all the candidates of the PDP in Ogun State.
Reverend Olusola Salau said that; this is a success for Ogun State PDP after many years of elections sabotage as moles and party traders keep on disrupting and working against the party under the disguise of who and who is the authentic executive. Indirectly, they were unconsciously giving victory to opponents that do not deserve to win any election in the first instance.
The judgment which returned Hon. Adebutu Oladipupo popularly known as Lado and other PDP candidates back to the ballot is a victory for democracy.
Rev. Salau after confirming the victory to the Eaglesforesight correspondent, also thanked the people of the state for “their steadfastness and solidarity with the party”.
Since September 27 when an Abeokuta Federal High Court 1 sacked all PDP candidates, the victory at today’s appeal court judgement is a rest from many years battle within Ogun state People’s Democratic Party.
The Chieftain mentioned the judiciary, that being the last hope of the people, has restored confidence that the country would be great again, saying “hope is on the way for better governance in Ogun State.”
He noted that the judgement was won on merit, expressing joy that the appellate court has affirmed that only a National body of the party can nominate and conduct a primary election for the party.
“Those trying to work to destabilize the PDP for the ruling party are only wasting their time as the electoral act was clear on the process,” he stated.
