Agriculture, A Very Important Sector That Rep Onanuga IJAYA Touched

Having influenced several developmental projects to Remo Federal Constituency and also facilitated trainings and Youth empowerments that have made lots of young people economically engaged, Rep Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga IJAYA the MHR Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency via legislative apparatus at her disposal, ensured that Agriculturally inclined constituents in the garri processing sector have access to a factory that will enhance their practice.

In view of the above, Rep Onanuga early in the tenure facilitated the building of a Garri Processing Plant situated at Ilishan, Ikenne LG equipped with all necessary equipments needed in transforming raw Cassava into finished product (Garri) in the space of a FEW HOURS. This Plant has allowed cassava farmers in the Constituency have a rapid turnover in the production of their goods from farm to market, another boost to the Agricultural economy and provision of food for both the subsistence Farmers and teeming consumers of Remo Federal Constituency.

Ensuring young people and women are economically independent, Rep Onanuga also trained some of them in Banana plantation, Horticulture, Ginger production, Fishery and Snail farming, they were trained and not left alone, they were also gifted start-up grants to assist newcomers or to serve as capital boost to strengthen those who were already experienced but needed assistance and better and newer practices . In order to see them progress, Mentors was assigned to them to guide them through to indepence stage. Most of the trainees are doing good today in their farming businesses.

A lot more still needs to be done and facilitated for Remonians in the Agricultural sector thus the support to see our performing Rep back into the National Assembly, a lawmaker who priotizes Agriculture and as well create opportunities and trainings for prosperity.
