The Coalition of Theatre Arts Associations and the Ogun State Indigene Entertainment Professionals Forum have declared that, they would only mobilise themselves to vote for Governorship candidate of the political party that has positive agenda for them in the forthcoming election.
Eaglesforesight reports that, the bodies made the declaration through the Coordinator and the General Secretary of the Ogun Indigene Artiste Forum, Kehinde Soaga and the Chairman of the Coalition of Theatre Arts Associations in Ogun State Artistes Otunba Yinka Ola- Williams.
The forum at a parley in Abeokuta emphasized that all artistes have agreed and resolved to speak in one voice, adding that, their membership of over two million is cut across the state, and that their fans numerical strength remained enormous.
“Our main focus had been to support good governance in Ogun State, particularly a government that will consider us as stakeholders in the economy and wellbeing of the state. The entire artiste population are estimated to be over 2 million members across the state while numbers of our fans and followers cannot be quantified’, Soaga noted.
“The artistes in general have been completely neglected in the state and nation building despite that we are more than the civil servants in numbers. All the Chairmen and Artiste Guilds/Associations heads have agreed to this position, in the interest of the Industry’, he added.
‘Our productivity is seen by all, even though the government does not recognize the sector. Don’t forget that we were completely neglected even during Covid 19 and others of our Challenge times as a people’,Soaga stated.

Eaglesforesight also reports that, present at the meeting to make the bodies position known were heads of all the associations in Ogun State, and they include, Chief Rasaq Baroka Oyadiran, Owolabi Ajasa and Hafiz Oyetoro among other stakeholders.
